Forward Eric Lund Commits to Northeastern

Earlier this week, Northeastern secured the verbal commitment of Eric Lund, an ’06 forward from Bridgewater, MA. Lund just finished his senior year at Cushing Academy, a prep school in Massachusetts. He is the younger brother of former Huskies forward Cam Lund.

Lund is a 6-foot-1, 170 pound, right-shot forward, predominately playing wing. He recently completed his prep career at Cushing Academy, where he played two seasons. Cushing has produced multiple recent Northeastern players including Lund’s brother Cam, Jackson Dorrington, Billy Norcross, Nolan Hayes, and Nick Rhéaume. Lund saw his point totals jump from 5-4-9 in 32 games as a junior to 14-10-24 in 30 games as a senior, and he was named Cushing’s Offensive MVP at year’s end, recognizing his “outstanding performance and contributions on the offensive side.” Cushing won the NEPSAC Elite 8 Championship, and after the season Lund was named an All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention. He also played games for the Central Mass Penguins U18 AAA team both years, this year adding 7-12-19 in 25 games to his stat sheet. He is a product of the South Shore Kings youth hockey program.

In the limited game film we were able to watch, Lund showcased good compete with a willingness to go to the net, crashing for rebounds and redirections near the crease. He also showed off a solid one-timer, unsurprising to Huskies fans after watching his brother unload his one-timer for three years.

Lund is expected to play at least one year of junior hockey before enrolling at Northeastern. He was drafted by the NCDC’s Boston Jr Bruins in the 2022 draft, though he may opt to play elsewhere. At this juncture we are projecting him for enrollment in Fall 2027, after two years of junior hockey. We project his role at Northeastern to be starting as a bottom six/depth forward, working his way into more playing time as he ages and matures, and being an important part of the Huskies’ depth for all four years in school.

Congratulations to Eric on his commitment to NU!

As always, go Huskies!
