Bobby Hampton Signs NLI for 2017

Late Tuesday night, the Huskies added another forward to the group of players entering Northeastern in the Fall of 2017. Bobby Hampton, who is coming from Cedar Rapids in the United States Hockey League, signed his National Letter of Intent, and will enroll at Northeastern a year earlier than anticipated. We had slotted Hampton in the group entering Fall of 2018.

We covered Hampton back in February in our Scouting Report series, featuring commentary from Cedar Rapids reporter Scott Herbst. Link to that blog post here.

Cedar Rapids finished their season with the worst record in the USHL. Hampton arrived early in the season, after starting the year with the Chicago Steel. In 44 games with Cedar Rapids, he put up 11 goals and 12 assists, his 23 points leading the team in scoring. We project him as a bottom six forward, who could grow into a middle six power forward on the wing. Hampton will be the latest in the line of forwards coming to NU via Cedar Rapids, continuing the lineage that has produced Huskies stalwarts Matt Filipe and Adam Gaudette, among others.

Congratulations Bobby and welcome to Northeastern!
