Goaltender Harrison Chesney Commits to Northeastern

Northeastern rounded out their goaltending corps today after gaining a commitment from Harrison Chesney, a 2001-birth year goalie playing for the P.A.L Junior Islanders in the NCDC, part of the US Premier Hockey League.

Chesney hails from Malverne, NY, and stands 6-foot-3 inches tall. He catches with his left hand. This season with the Junior Islanders, he has started 25 games and thrived to the tune of a .926 save percentage (third-best in the NCDC this season) and a 2.73 goals-against-average (eighth-best), with 1 shutout. It’s his second year with the team and third in the Junior Islanders system, with stops with the Westchester Express U18 team and the Long Island Gulls junior hockey program.

Chesney brings size, athleticism, and sound fundamentals to Northeastern, giving the team additional depth at the goaltender position. He is expected to enroll this upcoming fall as the third goaltender on the roster after Evan Fear chose not to return to the program for his senior season. He joins Devon Levi and fellow incoming freshman Grant Riley as the Huskies’ goaltending trio for 2022-23.

Congratulations to Harrison on his commitment!

As always, go Huskies!
