Earlier this week, Northeastern received their latest commitment for the future in Reegan Hiscock, a 2004 birth year forward from Newfoundland, Canada. Hiscock is currently playing for Victoria in the British Columbia Hockey League.
Hiscock is a 6-foot-4, 195 pound left shot winger currently in his debut season in the BCHL. So far in 21 games he has 11 points (6 goals). He is playing on Victoria’s top line and powerplay. Before Victoria, he played for the Pinnacle Growlers U18 AAA team for three seasons, and dominated that level of hockey, progressing each season to finish with 51 points (35 goals) in just 32 games his last season with the team in 2021-22. Based on his statistics, Hiscock appears to be a legit goal scorer, with goals outpacing assists in two of his three seasons at the AAA level, and his 35 goals leading the league in that 2021-22 season. Pinnacle won the playoffs that year and Hiscock was named playoff MVP after posting another 16 points (12 goals) in just 10 games.
A late bloomer type, Hiscock clearly knows how to score the puck, something that will be a huge tool for Northeastern in the future. One evaluator called him “one of the most improved players in his age group in Atlantic Canada” and multiple others add on that he is “highly skilled” and that he has a quick release on his wrist shot and good hands to compliment it. A fourth publication states that he has the combination of size, length, skill, and wheels.
With the path his career has taken so far, we project that Hiscock will play one more year in the BCHL and then enroll in 2024 to Northeastern. As always, we will update our projection chart whenever we get new information or projections related to Reegan or any other recruit. The forward classes for 2024 and 2025 look to be absolutely loaded at this point, indicating that Northeastern truly is not going anywhere any time soon as the team reloads rather than rebuilds.
Congratulations to Reegan on his commitment! We look forward to watching him develop with Victoria.
As always, go Huskies!
