Every season, SB Nation College Hockey releases their rankings of the Top 100 NHL prospects playing college hockey. This list encompasses drafted players and undrafted free agents, and covers all six of the college hockey conferences.
Northeastern finished with six players on the list, second most in Hockey East. Adam Gaudette led the Huskies players, ranked 18th overall. Zach Aston-Reese was ranked 30th, Nolan Stevens was ranked 46th, Matt Filipe was ranked 62nd, Jeremy Davies was ranked 88th, and Dylan Sikura was ranked 92nd. With only one of these players not returning next year, Northeastern looks to be in good shape for next season. The amount of players on this list is a testament to the quality of players that Jim Madigan is bringing into Matthews Arena to play for the Huskies, and a testament to how he is developing his skaters while they play for him.
Gaudette has the potential to be a big center at the NHL level, an extremely rare commodity. He’s capable of playing a lower line role, but his offensive breakout this year suggests he might score at the pro level too.
The other NU players had quotes from previous pieces, and you can start reading the whole series here. Below is a table with each team in Hockey East and the players they had on the list.
